Art of Writing One Act Plays Showcase (Online)

Time: 3:00pm to 5:00pm
The online showcase will feature LIVE dramatic readings of several One Act Plays written by students of the recent 'Art of Writing One Act Plays' workshop led by James Thoo. The participants of the workshop will debut their work in this showcase, with their scripts read by various members of the HCAC family.
Entry to the showcase is on a Pay-What-You-Feel basis.
This event is pay-what-you-feel. All proceeds go to the sustainability of Haque Centre of Acting & Creativity (HCAC) with the aim of continued arts education for actors and non-actors as well as performance and art making opportunities for everyone.

Plays that will be showcased:
"SAVAGE LOVE" - A young woman finds out her brother is about to propose to the woman she has feelings for. Will she let him propose, or will she find a way to express her feelings first?

"ALLY" - Trouble is brewing in the Underworld. Can two very different brothers find common ground and conspire to save their world?

“HIT” - An inexperienced gangster is unwittingly pulled into committing a murder.

"SENSES" - When a series of unusual murders occur, an eager detective has to convince her devout partner that a serial killer is on the loose. But when she meets the killer herself, she is unsure if justice is the right path.

"THE NEW" - A tour guide leads new members of a space station while ensuring everything keeps to perfection.

"OWL" - A fiery private investigator with a personal vendetta has to work with his older sister to nab a faceless serial killer, all while must deal with personal issues they’ve been avoiding for a while.

"DOMINATION" - A young and inexperienced dominatrix uses her Mom's apartment without permission for an assignment. Surprises all around.

"DEMONS" - On a weekend home from college, a young woman grapples with demons of her past while dealing with her father's mental breakdown in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
